EFL teacher, London Institute Praha and Angloville Volunteer
English as a foreign language teacher primarily at the London Language Institute in Prague. Teaching all levels of English both one on one and in group situations. In this period I worked initially as a volunteer for Poland based language school Angloville as a native english speaking language instructor for English language students in Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
March 2010 - November 2010
Student teacher, Auckland University College of Education.
Attended courses towards a post-graduate diploma in teaching secondary, english literature.
For personal reasons I did not complete the diploma.
March 1999 - October 1999
Artist in the community, Whanganui community art centre.
For six months I recieved classroom sized groups of children and senior citizens into my studio several times a week. I would give them a talk on the topic of painting, and then set and supervise activities.
March 2000 - August 2000
Second Language Speaker, Nara, Japan
It is worth mentioning that I lived in Nara for 6 months in 2000. This was my first experience of living as a foreigner in a unique linguistic environment. Being a native speaker puts you in the position of being everyones opportunity to practice their English skills. I worked with a small language school near Nara.
